Wild Out

I stand amidst his fiery ways,

Embracing him with words of love and grace.

“Keep it open with me,” I whisper in his ear,

No need to hold back, no need to fear.

One vulnerable moment is all I ask,

A glimpse of his heart, an unguarded mask.

For though he’s prone to wild outbursts,

There’s another side, a soul unversed.

He drives me to the edge and back,

A tumultuous love, a never-ending track.

But with patience and composure,

I’m his defender, his lifelong closure.

His past, I urge him not to explore,

For there’s nothing to gain, nothing to restore.

Though he has perfect grammar and speech,

He struggles to find the words to reach.

So I show him how to love and care,

And hold his hand when he’s feeling scared.

I remind him that we are free,

Even if just for a moment, it’s enough for me.

Here, there is no one dancing, just he and I,

No other souls to catch our eye.

And in his gaze, all else recedes,

As if the world were made for these.

Yet some dreams, I’ve come to see,

Are better kept unrevealed by you and me.

  1. Brilliant! I love these snapshot poems… We don’t know how they got to this point, or what happens next. We just see this emotional scene… Your writing is so beautiful
